New members drop-in #10: 5 Sept 2025, 11.00-12.00
Organizers: Satkeen Azzizadeh (Middlesex University, UK), Anne-Wil Harzing (Middlesex University, UK).
Our first new members meeting of the year, with eleven members attending. Four were completely new members joining us for the first time. We really enjoyed hearing about their backgrounds and reasons for joining CYGNA. However, we also welcomed many established members who wanted to re-connect after a period of absence or even just the Summer period.
Unfortunately our regular host Satkeen was called away urgently so I had to take over, revealing my - after a year of retirement - rusty Zoom and chairing skills. CYG: Teaching & Scholarship Research Chair Jane O'Neal was still on leave, but Lead Team member Christa Sathish introduced the weekly evening time Cygna Writes initiative that she has been running for nearly a year now. Finally, Ina Aust introduced the new day-time Cygna Writes meeting.
Between keeping the register and chairing the meeting I promptly forgot to take a group picture. So below I am showing one of Ciara O'Higgins' beautiful slides as visual spice. It explains how to get involved as a new member.
