CYGNA Writes – writing in community, achieving in silence
Welcome to CYGNA Writes, a space dedicated to fostering a safe, supportive, and collaborative environment where we share and create a community of like-minded CYGNA writers.
Under the leadership of Christa Sathish—CYGNA Lead Team member and a passionate advocate for community-driven productivity—CYGNA Writes transforms the often-isolating writing process into a collaborative journey of growth and progress. Christa brings her expertise in fostering collaboration and productivity to every session. With a passion for empowering writers to achieve their goals, she creates a welcoming and inclusive space where everyone can succeed.
We believe in the power of collaborative writing—finding focus, accountability, and inspiration in a nurturing, silent, and productive setting.
Why CYGNA Writes?
Navigating the competitive and fast-paced academic environment, writing can often feel like a solitary task. At CYGNA Writes, we transform solitude into solidarity by creating opportunities for writers to:
- Stay focused: our silent sessions minimize distractions, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in your work.
- Be accountable: writing in a group setting motivates you to stay consistent and meet your goals.
- Find support: while we write silently, our community thrives on shared purpose and mutual encouragement.
- Achieve more: writing during a focused time slot enhances your productivity.
- Foster connections: our space connects you with like-minded CYGNA sisters who may share similar aspirations.
CYGNA Writes sessions cultivate a spirit of mutual encouragement and respect through calm camaraderie and trust within a safe writing space. This environment lays the groundwork for supportive relationships. It not only boosts individual productivity but also paves the way for enduring friendships, the sharing of ideas, and the creation of new collaborative opportunities, enriching both personal and collective writing experiences beyond the sessions.
What we Offer
Our vision is to provide both online and offline opportunities for CYGNA Writers around the globe to thrive. CYGNA Writes provides an opportunity to participate in sessions that create an inclusive, low-pressure environment where everyone can write in focused silence.
Our writing space is interdisciplinary, welcoming all types of writers and projects. We prioritize process over perfection, encouraging positive connections through productivity and community, allowing you the freedom to write without the obligation to interact or share.
Current Opportunity: Weekly Online Writing Sessions
Join Christa and a community of dedicated CYGNA writers in our virtual sessions, held every Wednesday from 19:00-21:00 GMT.
Session Structure
While you are free to join and drop out at any time of the session, we welcome joining the whole session. You may join any session whenever you can without weekly commitment. However, we find that consistency and dedication strengthen the community and bring CYGNA sisters closer together.
Future Opportunities
Christa is actively working on expanding CYGNA Writes to include:
- In-person writing retreats for immersive offline experiences.
- Specialised workshops to refine your writing skills.
- Networking events to connect with fellow writers and experts.
Who Can Join?
CYGNA Writes is open to all CYGNA sisters from all disciplines and backgrounds. Whether you are PhD student, ECR, or senior scholar, you are welcome to join.
