Collection of conference and other videos and podcasts in the area of International Business

Over the years, many academics conferences have taken to recording key sessions. Moreover, since the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic in March/April 2020, webinars have become really popular. They were recently joined by podcasts. Here is a collection of recordings in the field of International Business to inspire you in your research and teaching.
AIB Journals (JIBS & JIBP) Webinars
Between May 2020 and May 2025, AIB has been running regular webinars inviting three or four authors of papers on a common topic in the Journal of International Business Studies or Policy to talk about their work. Hence, they offer an excellent opportunity not only to learn more about important topics in IB, but also to get to know some of the field's key academics.
Starting with Shifts in Globalization and Anti-globalization and The Rise of the Digital Economy in the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, this webinar series has covered a very wide range of topics, most recently JIBS Editors' Views on the Future of International Business.
My personal favourites relate to my own research:
- How can MNEs best manage their human capital strategically? - 10 Sept 2020
-
Cultural Diversity's Impact on International Business Teams - 26 Jan 2021
- Global Migration - 11 Jan 2022
- Global Mobility and Knowledge Transfer - 28 Apr 2022 [see also a full write-up here: Global Mobility and Knowledge Transfer - an AIB webinar]
- Global Mobility and MNE Competitiveness - 22 Nov 2024
However, with 40 videos available, I suggest you explore the full playlist for videos in your area of interest.
AIB Journals podcasts
Since June 2025 AIB has moved to creating podcasts covering publications in JIBS, JIBP, but also AIB Insights. Personally, I haven't really warmed to this medium yet. My mental processing works best if I have both audio and video [and subtitles]. But I know many academics love them and there is no doubt that the shorter and more informal way of presenting research findings has a great appeal. AIB's "deep dive" podcasts aim to "unpack complex ideas and deliver insights that matter" to the listener.

Most of them are NotebookLM generated podcasts. I am highly sceptical of the use of AI in research, but I must admit that it does seem to result in some quite engaging episodes, once you get beyond hearing the same - fairly flat - voices throughout. They are also much quicker to produce. No need for dozens of emails to get agendas and timezones lined up. So in half a year more than 30 podcasts were produced. I'll leave it up to you to decide whether you feel they add value for you. You can find them all here on a playlist.
AIB Frontline interviews [videos & podcasts]
Since January 2021 Ilgaz Arikan has been conducting interviews with senior scholars in the field of International Business. Starting with Peter Buckley and John Cantwell, Ilgaz has gradually expanded his reach to include both younger generations of IB academics and those outside the traditional IB centres, thus providing a wonderful insight into the IB profession and its members.
In around 30 minutes, you can learn about about the interviewees' personal backgrounds, their research, and their mentoring lessons for junior academics. Ilgaz has conducted nearly 175 interviews to date. That is an amazing level of stamina and persistance. Thank you so much for your tremendous service to the community Ilgaz. You are a star!
You can find all interviews linked here in the Frontline IB Conversations series. They are also available as podcasts on all services, including Spotify, Amazon, Google, Apple, Tune In, and iHeartRadio and on the AIB YouTube channel. For visual spice, you can find the video of my interview and links to write-ups of the individual sections below.
