Semantic Scholar API key
The Semantic Scholar API key dialog box appears when you click the Request key button the the Preferences: Semantic Scholar dialog box, or automatically when you perform a Semantic Scholar search without an API key.
The dialog box directs you to the Semantic Scholar Beta web site to obtain a (free) API key from Elsevier, then lets you enter the API key for Publish or Perish to use. Publish or Perish then presents this API key to the Semantic Scholar server each time it performs a search.
The dialog box contains the following fields:
Field name | Description |
---|---|
(main text field) |
Instructions on obtaining a Semantic Scholar API key. Please follow these instructions to register for a subscription key, then copy and paste the resulting key into the API key field below. |
API key | Paste the API key that you received from Semantic Scholar in this field so Publish or Perish can use it during Semantic Scholar searches. If you previously entered a subscription key, it will be shown here. |
OK | Click this button to enter the API key for use by Publish or Perish, then close the dialog box. |
Cancel | Click this button to dismiss the dialog box without updating Publish or Perish's copy of the API key. |
