3.3.2 Ineffective queries

Not all queries return the results you would expect. You might have to refine your queries to get the most accurate results. Some tell-tale signs of ineffective queries are:

Too many results that you are not interested in

This is typically caused by criteria or search terms that are too broad. Try to refine your search as detailed in Section 3.2.

Missing works

This may be caused by problems with subject area classification or because you have restricted the year range. See the sections on “Restricting the subject area” and “Restricting the year range” in Section 3.2 for details.
