Since the privatisation of the railways in England a few years ago, the number of train operators has increased considerably. Although in theory an efficient means of covering both short and long distances, in practice you have to deal with a number of different operators, a fairly complicated fare structure, lots of train-changing, and a not-so-high level of punctuality.

Train stations in Bradford

Forster Square (in the city centre) is the starting point of many north, east, and west bound trains.
Bradford Interchange (in the city centre) is the starting point for the remaining lines (mostly south bound), as well as the major bus and coach station in Bradford.
Frizinghall is a small train stop along the line that starts at Forster Square. Not all train services stop here, but for the ones that do it is a conveniently located place to start: you find it at the "lower end" of Frizinghall (more or less continuing downwards from Emm Lane), about 10 minutes walking from the Management Centre.
Shipley is a junction for north, east, and west bound trains, including trains to Leeds. For many destinations, you will have to change trains in Shipley. In some cases it may therefore be easier to start your journey there.
