1.3.4 Other data sources

In addition to the data sources described above there are a lot of other sources that focus on specific disciplines. Some notable examples are Harvards Astrophysics Data System in Astrophysics, Citeseer in Computer Science, and PubMed in the Life Sciences.

Although these specialized data sources are often used frequently in their respective disciplines, they are not very useful for generic citation analysis as their coverage is very limited. In addition, not all of these databases provide citation information.
